Some recipes don’t need improving. They just need remembering.

Long before café pancakes piled high with toppings, there were pikelets.

Hot from the pan, spread with jam and topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream — the sort of simple afternoon tea many of us grew up with.

Our Pikelets Recipe Board features a proper old-fashioned recipe, complete with plain flour, cream of tartar and that little spoonful of golden syrup, engraved in a handwritten recipe-book style onto a bamboo serving paddle.

And because there really is only one proper way to finish them:

Best served with jam & whipped cream.
