Made by KJCreationsNZ
From presentation pieces and awards to one-off gifts and meaningful commissions, these are some of the projects we’ve had the privilege of creating. Each piece has been individually designed and made by us, often using beautiful reclaimed New Zealand timber.
These pieces are not currently for sale, but they may inspire an idea of your own.
Awards & Presentation Pieces

2025 North Canterbury Business Awards
KJCreationsNZ was proud to create the awards for the 2025 North Canterbury Business Awards.
Made from recycled rimu, each award was individually engraved with its category, recipient and sponsor details, then finished with vibrant pāua shell inlays. From the initial design concepts through to the completed awards, the aim was to create something substantial, distinctly New Zealand and worthy of celebrating the achievements of North Canterbury businesses.

HMNZS Kuparu Presentation Plaque
This presentation plaque was created for a friend who had served aboard HMNZS Kuparu many years earlier. Made from reclaimed New Zealand rimu salvaged following the Christchurch earthquakes, it brings together the vessel, her crest and details of her naval history.
The fine lines of the ship, rigging and crest demonstrate the level of detail that can be achieved with laser engraving, while still allowing the natural character of the reclaimed timber to remain part of the finished piece.
A second plaque was later created and found its way aboard Kuparu herself—a particularly special connection between the piece and the vessel it commemorated.

Made for Geraldine

The Geraldine Collection
Living and working in Geraldine has provided plenty of inspiration for designs that reflect the character of the town and its surroundings. The collection draws on familiar local features—Four Peaks, the rural landscape and State Highway 79—and interprets them in several different ways.
Created primarily for our Geraldine retail range, these pieces were developed across timber, bamboo and cork, then adapted for wall art, serving boards, bottle-opener magnets and smaller gifts. Each design stands on its own while remaining recognisably part of the wider collection.
This range demonstrates how we can take the identity of a particular place and develop it into a cohesive collection suited to different products, materials and customers.

South Island Rowing Lectern

South Island Rowing Lectern
KJCreationsNZ was commissioned to create a lectern featuring the existing South Island Rowing logo.
One of the challenges was translating the supplied artwork into a form suitable for laser engraving while retaining the colour that is integral to its meaning. Each coloured oar represents one of the regions that together make up South Island Rowing, so preserving that part of the design was particularly important.
Introducing colour into our engraved timber work was a new direction for us. A series of trial pieces allowed us to develop the technique, refine the finish and ensure the colour remained vibrant against the natural timber. The successful result was then incorporated into the completed lectern.
The photograph shows the near-final trial piece; an image of the finished lectern will be added when one becomes available.

Personalised Wedding Hangers

Personalised Wedding Hangers
Personalised coat hangers add a thoughtful finishing touch to the wedding-day preparations and create a special keepsake long after the celebrations are over.
Names, wedding roles and dates can be added to white painted hangers using permanent lettering, or laser engraved directly into natural timber. Ribbon colours can also be selected to complement the wedding palette, making each hanger individual to the bride and her wedding party.
