This artwork is crafted from solid New Zealand Rimu<\/strong>, salvaged from a central Christchurch building damaged and later demolished following the February 2011 earthquake<\/strong>. Formerly used as display shelving, the timber has been carefully selected for its exceptional condition\u2014free from nail holes, laminates, glue joins, or composite construction<\/strong>. Each piece is made from a single, uninterrupted block of Rimu, allowing the natural grain to tell its story.<\/p>\n

The T\u016b\u012b design is precision laser-engraved to honour both the bird and the timber it is carved from. Light and shadow are carefully balanced to preserve fine detail while creating a strong, contemporary statement wall art piece<\/strong>\u2014rich in story, texture, and meaning.<\/p>\n
